Roll-a-Bouts
The Roll-A-Bout walker is a new medical device designed for everyone who has an injury below the knee. The device can be used for injuries such as—
- Broken lower leg
- Achilles Tendon injury
- Amputation
- Ulcer of the foot or leg
- Bunion surgery
- Injuries of the ankle or foot
The Roll-a-Bout provides more stability, allowing patients to distribute their weight evenly to prevent secondary injuries. Most patients with weak upper extremities are able to use the Roll-a-Bout easily. The cost of a Roll-a-Bout is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid but some private insurance will cover the cost. Check with your insurance carrier. The HCPC code is E0118. Rental options are also available. It should take less than one hour to be fitted for your Roll-a-Bout.
For more information on Roll-a-bouts and how to get one, call DME at 876-4040.
