October 3, 2008, Decatur, Ill…A new health care option for seniors is available on the campus of Decatur Memorial Hospital. The DMH Senior Life Enrichment Center was designed to meet the specific needs of our growing population, age 55 and over. It is exclusively for seniors who want to maintain their health and independence.
The only one of its kind in Decatur, the center will offer complete medical services for adult patients. The convenient location at 102 W. Kenwood on the DMH campus provides accessibility to services such as radiology, laboratory and other ancillary areas. The center specializes in the prevention and treatment of conditions of older adults, and was designed to schedule longer appointment times which older patients sometimes need.
Geriatric Physician Anthony McCormack, MD, is Medical Director of the center and will supervise Certified Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Marilee Dalton Peters where she will see patients.
The DMH Senior Life Enrichment Center is part of DMH’s Senior Health & Wellness Center of Excellence, which also includes DMH PrimeTime (a free program that provides many benefits such as screenings and health seminars to people 55 and over) and DMH Geriatric Assessment Center (an outpatient program designed to help those 65 and older and their families identify health needs and provide planning and intervention on a consultative basis).
